FAIRFIELD CT CHIEF BUILDING OFFICIAL WINS PRESTIGIOUS HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION AWARD
South Norwalk, CT, May 4, 2017 – Tom Conley, the Town of Fairfield’s Chief Building Official, has been recognized as the 2017 Building Official of the Year by the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Fairfield County (HBRA), a not-for-profit trade organization representing many of the area builders, remodelers, land developers and allied services associated with the real estate development industry.
Conley, who heads Fairfield’s Building Department, was honored at the association’s annual building official’s night held on May 3 at a meeting hosted by Clarke Distributors in South Norwalk. The sold-out event was attended by HBRA members and guests, the Town of Fairfield First Selectman Michael Tetreau, who presented a proclamation naming May 3rd “Tom Conley Day” in Fairfield, and other Fairfield County building officials.
Chris Steiner, President of the HBRA, a local branch of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), says the award is a way for builders to show appreciation for the work that building inspectors do guiding a project from start to finish.
“Our members are able to provide a high level of service and quality thanks to the input we receive from our town and city building officials,” says Steiner. “This night is always an important opportunity for our builders, remodelers, and associates to collaborate with officials from different municipalities on mutual goals.”
